Wood is an important building material, which is lightweight and easy to process and repair, and it is\r\nwidely available for the construction industry. The research task in the present study is to investigate\r\nthe relationship between the manufacture data for construction wood and the gross domestic product\r\n(GDP). In order to determine the aforementioned relation between the manufacture data for construction\r\nwood and the GDP, the Engle-Granger co-integration, error correction model (ECM) and the Granger\r\ncausality tests were applied. A direct proportionality was determined in the relationship between the\r\nmanufacture of construction wood and the GDP as a result of this study....
The major financial scandals and the financial system crisis, have been linked directly or indirectly, to the idea of scam, false or absence of ethics in accounting. The aim of this study is to make an incursion into the history of ethics and morality in accounting, as well as highlighting the importance of these concepts in the economic life of the company. Moreover, given the importance of ethics and morality in the current environment, it takes an ex-ante analysis followed by an ex-post analysis, to highlight ethical and efficient connection between the multitude of areas on which acts, as well as to show how these principles have emerged and developed. The failure of complying the moral principles and norms of the contemporary world, led to the idea of chaos and lack of provision in the economic plan. Therefore, our approach on the connection between business, ethics, morality, professionalism and accountability is appropriate. Among the objectives of accounting and morality in business is a serious interdependence. Lack of ethical and moral principles in accounting would create preconditions to achieve some \"legal fraud\", not necessarily related to creativity, but rather to the weakness of an accounting system without rules and ethical principles, reducing the quality of financial information. The research methodology used in developing the study takes into account qualitative methods. The relevant literature is complemented by a comparative analysis of such critical, inductive and deductive reasoning....
Our paper reports on an extensive survey carried out amongst marketing managers or people with similar positions and tasks employed by Romanian public institutions, both central and local. We attempted to get a broad picture of how marketing activities are organized within Romanian public institutions and tried to identify marketing tools and practices favored in this environment. Public organizations implement specific marketing concepts, but, as it results from our research, they do this in a rather random and inefficient manner. Although managers of public institutions are aware of the usefulness of marketing tools and programs, they often overlook marketing, as demonstrated by the absence of marketing structures in more than half of the institutions, the low range of marketing activities developed, and limited financial and material resources allocated to marketing endeavors...
The main purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the determinants of bank fragility in the\r\nNorth Cyprus Economy from 1984 to 2008, using a multivariate logit model. A panel data set containing\r\nbank level data for 24 commercial banks together with variables related to the macroeconomic\r\nenvironment. The empirical methodology employed in the article allows for the determination of the\r\nfactors that influence the probability of bank failure. The model links the probability of banking\r\nproblems to a set of bank-specific factors and macro-environment that may have exacerbated the\r\ninternal troubles of the financial institutions. The empirical findings suggested that, capital inadequacy,\r\nlower income, lower bank size, high inflation rate, lower growth rate, adverse terms of trade shocks and\r\nmarket pressure in Turkey are important determinants of banking sector distress in North Cyprus...
Starting from the economic and financial performance, this study proposes an analysis of the\r\nrelationship between two return rates that are often used in respect of measuring the companies''\r\nperformances. It is known that return rates represent the most popular instruments of measuring\r\nthe economic and financial performances of firms. The methodology used in order to achieve the\r\nspecified goal refers especially to the correlation method. The development of a hypothesis, the\r\neconometric model proposed and the results come to demonstrate the existing relationship\r\nbetween the two rates for Petrom and Zentiva companies. The idea of this study exists due to the\r\nfact that, as far as I know, in the specific literature, there are no such studies on this theme....
The study examines the relationships between the KSE100 index and a set of macroeconomic variables\r\nover sampling period in January 1999 to June 2008. Co-integration, Granger causality and error\r\ncorrection tests were used to analyze the relationship between stock prices (KSE100 index) and\r\nmacroeconomic variables. The findings from the co-integrating tests suggested that stock prices and\r\nmacroeconomic variables were co-integrated and that at least a uni-directional causality exists between\r\nthe two sets of variables. The results further suggested that stock prices were positively related with\r\nmoney supply and short term interest rates and negatively related with inflation and foreign exchange\r\nreserves....
